Paul G. Smith
Chairman
Paul is President, Chief Executive Officer and director of Equity Financial Holdings Inc. (a TSX listed company), a financial services firm whose principal subsidiary is Equity Financial Trust Company. Prior to Equity, he held management positions at BCE Inc., served as Executive Assistant to the Prime Minister of Canada, and was an aide to the Minister of External Affairs and to the Minister of International Cooperation. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MPA from Carleton University, and undergraduate degrees (Accounting, Political Science) from the University of Ottawa. Paul is a graduate of the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors and holds the institute's ICD.D designation. He is Chairman of the Board of VIA Rail Canada Inc., a position he has held since December, 2010, after serving as a director since 2006. He is also a member of the board of directors of StorageVault Canada Inc., (a TSX-V listed company).
Philip Gross
Director, President, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Philip Gross possesses many years of experience in the commodities industry and has worked extensively in both the physical and financial aspects of the industry. Mr. Gross has previously worked for one of the largest global commodities supply chain management firms, where he was the Head of Non-Ferrous Metals. Mr. Gross managed the firm’s non-ferrous metals team from incubation to successful maturity and, ultimately, oversaw the firm’s relevant commercial operations in India, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Venezuela, Brazil and Australia. Over the course of his career, Mr. Gross has assisted firms of various sizes in developing and sustaining their commodities portfolio management businesses.
Ike Makrimichalos
Chief Financial Officer
Ike is a CA with a BA from the University of Toronto, with over 27 years experience in servicing public and private companies for Deloitte & Touche LLP in Toronto. In addition, Mr. Makrimichalos also provides services as a CFO and consultant for several private companies and was recently a Controller for a junior mining exploration company.
John F. Munroe
General Manager
John brings 35 years of experience in the exploration and mining industry. He has worked for several major mining companies including BHP Discovery Technology, BHP Copper SA, and Amax Inc. U.S. John has been with Royal Standard Minerals since 2006, and has been involved in the mining and permitting, environmental compliance NDEP-BAPC, and safety (MSHA) for the Goldwedge operation.
John is a member of the Society of Economic Geologists & Exploration Geophysicists, and the American Petroleum Geologists. He holds a BSc in Geophysics & Mathematics from the University of Western Ontario.
James B. Clancy
Director
Jim has been Senior Advisor of SableRidge Capital Partners Inc. since March 2011 and President of Clancy Consultants Inc. since October 2009. Prior thereto, he was Director-Finance for Techint E. & C. Canada from March 2006 to October 2009. Jim has been involved as General Manager and/or Chief Financial Officer in the pipeline construction industry in Canada and overseas for over thirty years. He has an Honours Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Jim currently serves on the board and is Chairman of the Audit Committee of Galantas Gold Corporation (a TSX-V listed company).
Joe Racanelli, TMX Equicom
Investor Relations
Joe Racanelli is head of Equicom's Mining Group. He provides strategic capital markets counsel to public companies at various stages of development, bringing together more than 15 years of corporate communications, marketing, and investor relations experience. Joe helps clients build profile, address financing requirements and achieve fair market valuation through his financial communications expertise, deep contacts within the investment community and a strong understanding of disclosure requirements. Prior to joining TMX Equicom in 2008, Joe worked with a number of technology and strategic consulting firms. He is a graduate of Concordia, as well as the University of Toronto.
